The material in this text is what I have learned and assembled over the 
years from working with numerous colleagues and clients in industry, govern- 
ment, and academia. Their assistance is most gratefully acknowledged. 
Particularly I wish to acknowledge the help, encouragement, and inspir-

involved with process risk and reliability.
