IF Condition Result If present simple present simple Ejemplos: If you heat water to 100° C, it boils. / Water boils if you heat it to 100° C.(Si calientas agua a 100 ° C hierve.) If I don’t practice the piano everyday I play poorly. / I play the piano poorly if I don’t practice everyday.(Si no practico el piano cada día toco mal.) Does your mom get mad if you don’t call her? / If you don’t call your mom, does she get mad?(¿Si no llamas a tu madre, se enoja?) https://www.curso-ingles.com/aprender/cursos/nivel-avanzado/conditionals/conditional-sentences#If%20you%20heat%20water%20to%20100%20degrees%20Celsius,%20it%20boils.%20Water%20boils%20if%20you%20heat%20it%20to%20100%20degrees%20Celsius https://www.curso-ingles.com/aprender/cursos/nivel-avanzado/conditionals/conditional-sentences#If%20I%20don't%20practice%20the%20piano%20everyday%20I%20play%20poorly.%20I%20play%20the%20piano%20poorly%20if%20I%20don't%20practice%20everyday https://www.curso-ingles.com/aprender/cursos/nivel-avanzado/conditionals/conditional-sentences#Does%20your%20mom%20get%20mad%20if%20you%20don't%20call%20her?%20If%20you%20don't%20call%20your%20mom,%20does%20she%20get%20mad? If you don't put sun cream on, you get burnt. Si no te pones crema solar, te quemas. You get burnt if you don’t put sun cream on. If you get a virus, call the IT specialist. Si tienes un virus, llama al informático. Call the IT speacialist if you get a virus…. If water reaches 100ºC, it boils. Si el agua llega a 100ºC, hierve. Water boils if it reaches 100ºC. You get orange if you mix red and yellow. If I eat peanuts, I get ill. If you feel sick, go to the doctor. Si te encuentras mal, ve al médico. Go to the doctor if you feel sick. Don't open the door if someone knocks. No abras la puerta si alguien llama. If someone knocks, don’t open the door. STRUCTURE IF + PRESENT SIMPLE, + PRESENT SIMPLE USES EXAMPLES Hechos verdaderos: leyes científicas, verdades generales... If my dog sees the postman, he barks. He barks if my dog sees the postman. Si mi perro ve al cartero, ladra. Dar instrucciones If it rains, don't go to the playground. Si llueve, no salgas al patio. Don’t go to the playground if it rains. Proposición "if" (condición) Proposición principal (resultado) If + simple present simple future If this thing happens that thing will happen. Ejemplos ● If it rains, you will get wet. ● You will get wet if it rains. ● If Sally is late again, I will be mad. ● I will be mad if Sally is late again. ● If you don't hurry, you will miss the bus. ● You will miss the bus if you don't hurry. Ejemplos I will = I’ll (Ail). You will = You”ll She will = She’ll ● If I have time, I'll finish that letter. ● What will you do if you miss the plane? ● Nobody will notice if you make a mistake. ● If you drop that glass, it will break. ● If you don't drop the gun, I'll shoot! ● If you don't leave, I'll call the police. Ejemplos ● If you drop that glass, it might break. ● I may finish that letter if I have time. ● If he calls you, you should go. ● If you buy my school supplies for me, I will be able to go to the park. La teoría El primer condicional tiene la siguiente estructura: If + sujeto + presente simple + sujeto + will + verbo en infinitivo (sin to) If you read this, you'll learn how to use the first conditional. También se puede decir así: Sujeto + will + verbo en infinitivo (sin to) + if + sujeto + presente simple You'll learn how to use the first conditional if you read this. If you’re in a hurry, I’ll take care of it. If he passes the exam, he’ll get a raise. Nos dejarán entrar si llevamos corbata. They’ll let us in if we wear a tie. You won’t know what it tastes like if you don’t try it. If I don’t try, they’ll think I’m a chicken. If the picture doesn’t come out right, we’ll delete it. Will they stay longer if we aren’t there? ¿Se quedará dormida si nos vamos? Will she fall asleep if we leave? ¿Te quedarás despierto si voy? Will you stay up if I go? If you don't put on repellent, you'll get bitten. Si no te pones repelente te van a picar. If you study hard, you'll get good marks. Si estudias mucho, sacarás buenas notas. FIRST CONDITIONAL WILL If the weather is nice on Sunday, we'll go on a picnic. GOING TO If I don't have to go to work tomorrow, I am going to visit my parents.Si mañana no tengo que ir a trabajar, iré a visitar a mis padres. CAN If the meeting finishes early, we can go for a drink.Sí la reunión termina temprano, podemos ir a tomar algo. MIGHT If I have time this afternoon, I might wash my car. SHOULD If they invite you, you should go.Si te invitan, deberías ir. MUST If you have any problems, you must call me.Si tienes algún problema, debes llamarme. If the weather is fine tomorrow, we will go cycling. Your sister will go mad if you touch her things.
