IN THE SIMPLE PRESENT WE ADD S, ES OR IES FOR HE / SHE/ IT 
RULES 
If a verb ends with o, sh, ch, ss, or x, we 
add -es 
EXAMPLES 
go - it goeswatch - he watches 
finish – he finishes miss- she misses 
fix –he fixes 
If a verb ends in a silent e add -s 
If a verb ends with consonant + y, we 
change the y to an i and add -es 
Take – she takes make -he makes 
Study –he studies carry –she carries 
Fly – it flies 
Tom’s day
