Read Aloud
As you read in Spanish, you will, without a doubt, come across conjugated
verbs. As you do, take the time to read them aloud. Pay attention to how the
sound and the context within which they are being used. This will help to
link the written word to how it sounds, while simultaneously listening to
yourself saying it. In doing so, you’re incorporating three of the major
elements that go into learning a language.
 
Write Them Down
During one of your more formal study sessions, take the time to write down
the conjugations of different verbs. Focus with just the present at first and,
once you’re confident with that, move on to the past (preterite and
imperfect), then the present continuous, and so on. 
Try writing down the conjugations five times, saying the words aloud as
you do. This repetition will train your muscle memory through writing and
your oral memory when speaking.
 
Know the Rules, Then Learn the Exceptions
In Spanish, as with any language, there are always exceptions to the rules.
They are inevitable and you will come across them more often than you
think. But if you want to be able to work with them, you have to fully
understand what they are “exceptions” of first. 
When starting, focus on becoming familiar with the rules. Focus on being
able to master the regular verbs first, and then move forward to tackle
irregular verbs. 
Note: That when speaking about Spanish and irregulars, we aren’t talking
about the “stem-changing” verbs (e: ie, o: ue, etc.). The same can be said
for the “go” verbs (Poner-Pongo, Hacer-Hago). These should be learned in
groups, as you would any other form of conjugations. They do still have
rules they follow and these are rules you should become familiar from the
beginning.
 
Tenses
When learning tenses, the first thing to focus on are the conjugations. There
are some tenses in Spanish that can be difficult to learn in regards of when to
use them (the preterite vs. imperfect, for example). But if you want to practice
using them, you at least have to have an idea of how to form them. 
As you know, there are three different verb endings: -ar, -er, and -ir. These
endings are the endings you will add to the verb when conjugating it into any
of the various tenses. 
Let’s take a few verbs as examples and look at the conjugations for some of
the most common tenses in Spanish:
Present-I talk
Preterite-(talking about the past during a specific time) I talked
Imperfect-(talking about the past during an unspecified time) I was
talking
Future-I will talk
Conditional-I would talk

-Max: A cuatro cuadras de su tienda.
-Operador telefónico: Aproximadamente diez minutos.
-Max: Perfecto. ¿Qué tamaños de pizza tiene?
-Operador telefónico: Pequeña, mediana, grande, extra grande y súper
grande.
-Max: ¿Para cuantas personas son?
-Operador telefónico: La pequeña es para una sola persona, la mediana
para dos, la grande para cuatro, la extra grande para seis y la súper
grande para ocho.
-Max: Excelente. ¿Qué ingredientes adicionales tienes?
-Operador telefónico: Maíz, cebolla, pimentón, champiñones, extra queso,
jamón, piña, jalapeños, pepperoni, salchichas, carne, pollo, papas fritas,
queso cheddar, aceitunas y anchoas.
-Max: Entiendo. Voy a querer una súper grande con maíz, cebolla,
pimentón, extra queso y jamón; una extra grande con papas fritas y
pepperoni y una pequeña con anchoas y piña.
-Operador telefónico: Anotado. ¿Desea algo para tomar?
-Max: ¿Qué tiene?
-Operador telefónico: Gaseosas, té helado, café y jugos naturales.
-Max: Tres gaseosas de 2 litros.
-Operador telefónico: Listo. Su orden llegara en cuarenta minutos.
-Max: Muy bien, ¿para pagar?
-Operador telefónico: Puede pagarle al chico de entregas en efectivo, con
tarjeta o a través de nuestra app.

-Max: What do you have?
-Telephone operator: Soft drinks, iced tea, coffee, and natural juices.
Max: Three 2-liter soft drinks.
-Telephone operator: Ready. Your order will arrive in forty minutes.
-Max: All right, to pay?
