El texto contiene instrucciones, pero va mucho más allá de la mera indicación al lector de los pasos a seguir. Cortázar utiliza el reloj para abordar el tema de la temporalidad y la muerte. Aporta esta reflexión mediante una escritura imperativa que provoca en el lector una mayor reflexión sobre cómo afrontar sus miedos.
Desde mi punto de vista, un texto literario tiene que provocar sensaciones en el lector. Cuando leí este texto, me provocó varias emociones e inseguridades, así que reúne los requisitos para ser clasificado como texto literario.
No creo que cambiara demasiado. Sin embargo, en la sociedad actual, el teléfono móvil tendría un mayor impacto. Porque al igual que el reloj servía de guía en otra época, hoy en día, la gente se educa a sí misma a través de sus teléfonos móviles, que a menudo sirven como control de sus vidas.
