Juan Martín Leiseca defined the essential object of history as simply the review of past events. The subject of history is man and its purpose is to present to current men the story and consequences of past events. The only way in which historiography fulfills its purpose is through the concept of Philosophy of History. The historical research method is the analytical-synthetic method. The analytical method is the heuristic method, which is used to find the new, the unknown. The synthesis method is the hermeneutic method, which consists of the art and theory of interpretation. Historical research is also deductive-inductive. Deduction is the method of reasoning that leads to the conclusion from the general to the particular.
