What are the side effects of the drug bortezomib?
a. Frequent: peripheral neuropathy, hypotension, thrombocytopenia, anemia, neutropenia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, fever, psychiatric disorders, decreased appetite, paresthesias, dyspnea, rash, pain, insomnia, infections of the lower respiratory tract, arthralgia, myalgia, dizziness, herpes zoster, peripheral edema, blurred vision, and pneumonia. Occasional: episodes of heart failure (acute pulmonary edema, heart failure, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary edema). Unusual: prolongation of the QT interval, pneumonitis, interstitial pneumonia, pulmonary infiltration, ARDS, cardiac tamponade, ischemic colitis, encephalopathy, disseminated intravascular coagulation, hepatitis, pancreatitis, and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
b. Frequent: changes in ST-T wave, hypotension, fatigue, fever, headache, chills, pruritus, dermatitis, hypocalcemia, hyperglycemia, hypoalbuminemia, hypermagnesemia, hyperuricemia, hypokalemia, hypophosphatemia, hyponatremia, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, taste alteration, weight loss, abdominal pain, myelosuppression, increased AST/ALT, cough, and dyspnea. Occasional: peripheral edema, tachycardia, dehydration, stomatitis, hyperbilirubinemia, hypoxia, and pulmonary embolism. Unusual: acute renal failure, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, cardiopulmonary failure, cardiogenic shock, and septic shock.
c. Frequent: edema, fatigue, fever, headache, chills, pruritus, dermatitis, hypocalcemia, hyperglycemia, diarrhea, nausea, taste alteration, anorexia, vomiting, muscle spasm, myelosuppression, proteinuria, increased creatinine, and cough. Occasional: QTc prolongation, squamous cell carcinoma, and pulmonary embolism. Unusual: angioneurotic edema, cholecystitis, deafness, diverticulitis, exfoliative dermatitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, hemoptysis, myocardial infarction, neutropenia, renal failure, sepsis, and ischemic stroke.
d. Frequent: weight changes, fatigue, loss of energy, gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain), myelosuppression, weakness, infection, headache, dizziness, dyspnea, and cough. Occasional: hypotension, diarrhea, constipation, insomnia, anxiety, arthralgia, myalgia, epistaxis, allergic reactions, pruritus, rash, peripheral edema, and secondary malignant tumors. Unusual: arthritis, encephalopathy, pulmonary edema, hemorrhagic stroke, angioedema, and pulmonary embolism.
