What is flutter auricular and how is it treated?
Flutter auricular is an arrhythmia in which atrial activation rotates around a relatively large circuit in one or both atria. Flutter auricular can cause symptoms such as palpitations, dyspnea, chest pain, or fatigue. The acute treatment of flutter depends on hemodynamic repercussion, and may consist of urgent electrical cardioversion or control of heart rate with drugs. The chronic treatment of flutter includes antiarrhythmic drugs and radiofrequency ablation, being the latter the therapy of choice in most cases.
