Indications of CsA in Dermatology
CsA is mainly used for the treatment of pruritus, inflammation, and immunosuppression in veterinary dermatology. In dogs, CsA shows a minimum inhibition of antibody production or humoral response to vaccines. CsA reduces the degranulation of eosinophils, basophils, and mast cells, blocking the release of histamine in the last two. CsA also has an antiproliferative effect on keratinocytes and is capable of modulating the response of these progenitor cells, increasing innate immune responses in the skin.
