Severe or very severe exacerbation
Failure of moderate exacerbations to respond to treatment
Patients with stable severe/very severe COPD and frequent exacerbations (≥ 2) in the previous year
To rule out other diagnoses (pneumonia, pneumothorax, heart failure, pulmonary embolism, etc.)
Insufficient home support
Deterioration of the general condition
