What is the definition of luxation of the lens?

Luxation of the lens consists of the displacement of the lens from its physiological position.
It occurs when the zonular attachment zones are affected, allowing partial (subluxation) or complete displacement of the lens (luxation).
The causes of displacement are diverse, including primary and senile zonular weakness, chronic uveitis, glaucoma, cataract, trauma, and neoplasia.
