Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Facultad de Matemáticas Primer Semestre 2008 MAT 1503 CALCULO I SOLUCION INTERROGACION I (1) (a) Sean a, b, c ∈ R. Pruebe que (c− a + b)(c + a− b) ≤ c2. Solución (c− a + b)(c + a− b) = (c− (a− b))(c + (a− b)) = (c2 − (a− b)2) ≤ c2 pues (a− b)2 ≥ 0 (b) Resuelva en R √ x2 + x > | 2x + 2 |. Luego u2 = v2. Aśı u = |v|. Como v ≥ 0, sigue u = v. Sobreyectividad: Sea y ∈ [1, +∞[. Entonces 0 ≤ y2 − 1 < y2. Con esto x = √ y2 − 1 y2 ∈ [0, 1[. Además f(x) = f (√ y2 − 1 y2 ) = y. Con esto f−1 : [1, +∞[ → [0, 1[ x √ x2 − 1 x2 (b) Encuentre una función h, tal que h ◦ f = g. Solución: Como existe f−1 tenemos que h = h ◦ f ◦ f−1 = g ◦ f−1. Luego h(x) = g(f−1(x)) = g (√ x2 − 1 x2 ) = √√ x2 − 1 x2 + 1. (3) Determine todos los valores de m ∈ R de modo que (2mx2 + mx + 1)(mx2 + 1) > 0 para todo x ∈ R. Solución: Sean p(x) = 2mx2 + mx + 1 y q(x) = mx2 + 1. 1) Tenemos que, si m = 0, entonces p(x)q(x) = 1 · 1 > 0. 2 ) Como p(0) = 1 = q(0), el problema se traduce en p(x) > 0 y q(x) > 0 para todo x ∈ R. Es decir, m2 − 8m = m(m− 8) < 0 y −4m < 0. Luego m ∈]0, 8[. Aśı, por 1) y 2) sigue que m ∈ [0, 8[. (4) (a) Sean a, b, c, d, h ∈ R. Pruebe que, si el polinomio ax3 + bx2 + cx + d es divisible por x2 + h2, entonces ad = bc. Solución: Tenemos que ax3 + bx2 + cx + d = (ax + b)(x2 + h2) + (c− ah2)x + d− bh2. 2 Por hipótesis se tiene que c− ah2 = 0 y d− bh2 = 0. 1) Si a = 0, entonces c = 0. De esta forma 0 · d = b · 0. Análogamente, si b = 0, entonces d = 0. 2) Si a 6= 0 6= b, entonces c a = h2 = d b . Luego ad = bc. Otra forma: Si ax3 + bx2 + cx + d = (x2 + h2)(px + q) o bien ax3 + bx2 + cx + d = px3 + qx2 + ph2x + qh2 Luego, igualando los coeficientes, a = p b = q c = ph2 d = qh2 de modo que ad = pqh2 = bc. (b) Sea f(x) = x + 1 1− x x < 0 1− x 1 + x x ≥ 0 Pruebe que f(x) = f(−x), para todo x ∈ R. Solución: Para x < 0, se tiene que −x > 0. Luego f(−x) = 1− (−x) 1 + (−x) = 1 + x 1− x = f(x). Para x > 0, se tiene que −x < 0. Luego f(−x) = 1 + (−x) 1− (−x) = 1− x 1 + x = f(x).
