Population: 8.256 million (2018)
Location: Jalisco is located in the center of Mexico. The state is bordered to the northwest by Nayarit; to the north by Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, and San Luis Potosí; to the east by Guanajuato and Colima; and to the west by the Pacific Ocean.
Brief History 
↠It is said that the formal appearance of the first human settlements in western N Mexico dates back 7 thousand years ago.
↠By 1325, the town of Ameca was founded, facing the constant invasions of the Tarascans. After that, in 1510, the natives of Zapotlán, Sayula and Zacoalco, with the help of the Colima people, ceased to be tributaries of the Michoacán-Tarascos, when they triumphed in the Salitre war.
 ↠Later with the company of Nuño de Guzmán, Neogallega colonization began. From 1810, New Galicia became the scenery of bloody and decisive battles for the movement that gave independence to New Spain
↠The War of Independence began on September 16, 1810. On November 26, 1810, Hidalgo made his triumphal entry into Guadalajara, after having passed through Zamora, La Barca, Atequiza and Tlaquepaque
↠ A important fact is that on June 13, 1821, the Iguala Plan was signed in San Pedro Tlaquepaque
Ethnicities
Ethnic groups of Jalisco have a very small population with about 36,020 indigenous people. (Census, 2010).

Gastronomy
Pozole: Thick pork soup with tomato, cilantro and chickpeas.
Birria: Goat or pork stew with tomato broth and hot peppers.

Tortas ahogadas
The Tortas Ahogadas has its origins in the Pearl Tapatía at the beginning of the last century. 
It is said that the recipe was invented by a hungry normal person who went to his house after a day at work. With the sought to satisfy his appetite, but only found a piece of bread, pieces of pork prepared as carnitas and a tomato sauce.
The man took the ingredients and prepared a rare snack, which was so good that he asked his wife to reveal the ingredients of the sauce, which is the most important ingredient.
A few years later, the person who started marketing the new food in Guadalajara was Mr. Ignacio Saldaña.

↠Tourism is an important economic engine since Jalisco has more than 20 million tourist every year. Especially in magic towns and international beaches like Puerto Vallarta.
