INPV411 e-class File 11A Objetivo: - En esta guía aprenderás a usar adverbios para describir acciones. - Usar adverbios modificadores para otros adverbios o adjetivos. 1. Adverbs (Manner and modifiers) (Adverbios; de maneras y modificadores) Para decir cómo la gente hace distintas acciones usamos los adverbios. Usualmente van después del verbo. They speak slowly. (Ellos hablan lentamente.) She drives aggressively. (Ella maneja agresivamente.) We speak English very well. (Nosotros hablamos Inglés muy bien.) Adjective Adverb Spelling slow quick bad careful slowly quickly badly carefully + -ly happy easy happily easily Consonant + y > -ily possible possibly le > -ly good fast hard well fast hard Irregular Recuerda que hay una diferencia entre adjetivos y adverbios: I’m a slow runner. (=Soy un corredor lento.) (Slow es un adjetivo, describe al sustantivo; corredor.) I run slowly. (=Corro lento/lentamente.) (Slowly es un adverbio, describe al verbo; correr. Recuerda que usualmente va después del verbo) 2. Modifying adverbs. (Adverbios modificadores) Los usamos para modificar o calificar adjetivos o adverbios. Siempre van antes del adjetivo o adverbio. It’s a really expensive car. (=Es realmente un auto caro.) We did a very good job. (=Hicimos un muy buen trabajo.) They drive incredibly slowly. (=Ellos manejan increíblemente lento.) No todas las palabras que terminan en ly son adverbios. Por ejemplo friendly = Adjective (Amigable) o lovely = Adjective (Encantador/a) INPV411 e-class Exercises for File 11A Nombre estudiante:______________________________________ Sección:_______________ I- Escoge la palabra correcta. ¿Adjetivo o adverbio? 1.
