This is what she said: I’ve written about restaurants for the last 15 years but I think I’ve only written about typical English restaurants four or five times. King Arthur’s is in a lovely old English cottage and all the food is English too. The food is simple but made from the best ingredients and beautifully served. Nearly all the fruit: apples, pears, strawberries, for example, and vegetables: peas, beans, carrots, potatoes etc are grown in the restaurant’s garden. They go to the village market for anything they haven’t got. For the first course you can choose from home-made soups, patés, smoked salmon or salad and for the main course best Scottish roast beef, lamb, or fresh salmon or Dover sole if you prefer fish. They also have some traditional dishes like steak and kidney pie and Cornish pasties (meat and vegetables cut very small and cooked inside pastry). Cornish pasties are typical of this region. The sweets are a speciality – fresh strawberries and cream, apple tart, chocolate cake and many more. Lunch is served from 12 to 3 and cost £ 10.5 and dinner is served from 7.30 to 9.30 and costs £ 17.00. Lunch costs £ 2.00 more on Sunday. Elaborado en el CAA USBI Xalapa.
