INFLUENCIA DE LA PRESIÓN SOCIAL EN EL SUICIDIO 
EN LOS ESTUDIANTES DE GRADO DÉCIMO Y 
UNDÉCIMO DE LA INSTITUCIÓN EDUCATIVA LICEO 
MIXTO SAN JOSÉ DEL MUNICIPIO DE SOLEDAD –

RESUMEN 
 
El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la influencia de la presión social en 
el suicido de los estudiantes de grado décimo y undécimo de la Institución Educativa 
Liceo Mixto San José en el municipio de Soledad- Atlántico, tuvieron lugar jóvenes 
estudiantes del municipio de Soledad. Esta es una investigación cuantitativa, diseño 
descriptivo, empleando la técnica de la entrevista semiestructurada a una muestra 
de 19 personas. Los resultados mostraron que los jóvenes se sienten solos y 
desprotegidos, la principal causa por el cual se suicidan los jóvenes es la depresión, 
problemas socioeconómicos, personales y autoestima. Se concluye que se 
considera importante enfatizar que la comunicación de los problemas personales 
es la forma más efectiva de prevenir la conducta suicida, la presión social a 
menudo afecta negativamente a los estudiantes al cambiar su comportamiento a un 
comportamiento diferente. 
Durkheim (1897), indica que los suicidios son fenómenos individuales 
que muchas veces corresponden a causas sociales. Las sociedades muestran 
algunos síntomas patológicos ante cualquier integración o regulación social, sea 
o no la participación del individuo en la comunidad. Por tanto, el suicidio sería una 
realidad social. (Toscano, 2015) El término "presión social" se define como el 
conjunto de influencias que ejerce una sociedad sobre sus individuos. 
El enfoque que oriento el estudio fue el cuantitativo, con diseño descriptivo, 
previo consentimiento informado, firmado por cada uno de los participantes. Se 
utilizó como técnica la entrevista semiestructurada. La elección de la población se 
 
realizó por muestreo aleatorio simple, obedece al objetivo principal de la 
investigación que es determinar la influencia de la presión social en el suicido de los 
estudiantes de grado décimo y undécimo de la Institución Educativa Liceo Mixto San 
José en el municipio de Soledad- Atlántico. Se tomó una muestra de 19 personas, 
15 de estos estudiantes pertenecen al grado undécimo, 2 al grado décimo y 2 
docentes directores de grupo de cada grado. obedece al objetivo principal de la 
investigación que es determinar la influencia de la presión social en el suicido de los 
estudiantes de grado décimo y undécimo de la Institución Educativa Liceo Mixto San 
José en el municipio de Soledad- Atlántico. 
Los jóvenes participantes en el estudio tienen una edad promedio de 14 a 20 
años, de los cuales el 68,5 % de los entrevistados son del sexo femenino y el 31,6% 
del sexo masculino. Cabe resaltar que según los participantes el sexo más propenso 
a cometer suicidio son las mujeres, además, la principal causa por el cual se 
suicidan los jóvenes con un 47.4% es la depresión. Para concluir, a partir de los 
resultados obtenidos a través de la entrevista realizadas se puede evidenciar que 
los jóvenes sí se sienten solos y desprotegidos, en cuanto a la relación entre la 
presión social y el cambio de comportamiento de los estudiantes, se puede observar 
que los jóvenes que experimentaron presión social en realidad experimentaron un 
cambio de comportamiento debido a la búsqueda de autorrealización.

ABSTRAC 
 
The objective of the study was to determine the influence of social pressure 
on the suicide of tenth and eleventh grade students of the Liceo Mixto San José 
Educational Institution in the municipality of Soledad-Atlántico, young students from 
the municipality of Soledad took place. This is a quantitative research, descriptive 
design, using the semi-structured interview technique with a sample of 19 people. 
The results showed that young people feel alone and unprotected, the main cause 
for which young people commit suicide is depression, socioeconomic, personal 
problems and self-esteem. It is concluded that it is considered important to 
emphasize that the communication of personal problems is the most effective way 
to prevent suicidal behavior, social pressure often negatively affects students by 
changing their behavior to a different behavior. 
Durkheim (1897) indicates that suicides are individual phenomena that often 
correspond to social causes. Societies show some pathological symptoms in the 
face of any integration or social regulation, whether or not the individual participates 
in the community. Therefore, suicide would be a social reality. (Toscano, 2015) The 
term "social pressure" is defined as the set of influences that a society exerts on its 
individuals. 
General objective To determine the influence of social pressure on the suicide of 
tenth and eleventh grade students of the Liceo Mixto San José Educational 
Institution in the municipality of Soledad-Atlántico. 
 
The approach that guided the study was quantitative, with a descriptive 
design, prior informed consent, signed by each of the participants. The semi- 
structured interview was used as a technique. The choice of the population was 
made by simple random sampling, due to the main objective of the research, which 
is to determine the influence of social pressure on the suicide of tenth and eleventh 
grade students of the Liceo Mixto San José Educational Institution in the municipality 
Soledad-Atlántico. A sample of 19 people was taken, 15 of these students belong to 
the eleventh grade, 2 to the tenth grade and 2 group director teachers of each grade. 
It obeys the main objective of the research, which is to determine the influence of 
social pressure on the suicide of tenth and eleventh grade students of the Liceo 
Mixto San José Educational Institution in the municipality of Soledad-Atlántico. 
The young people participating in the study have an average age of 14 to 20 
years, of which 68.5% of the interviewees are female and 31.6% are male. It should 
be noted that according to the participants, the sex most likely to commit suicide is 
women, in addition, the main cause for which young people commit suicide with 
47.4% is depression. To conclude, from the results obtained through the interview 
carried out, it can be seen that young people do feel alone and unprotected, in terms 
of the relationship between social pressure and the change in behavior of students, 
it can be observed that youth who experienced peer pressure actually experienced 
behavior change due to seeking self-actualization.
