Safety toe caps can be made of steel, hardened plastic or any other material that meets the impact resistance requirement specified in sub-paragraph 4.1.4.
Steel toe caps must be corrosion-resistant and have a defect-free finish, such as burrs, inclusions, paint imperfections (except support areas) or cracks.
Safety toe caps can be type A or round, or type B or square.
The size and dimensions of the internal toe caps must correspond to the shoe size according to table 1.
The minimum free height measured at the time of maximum deformation must be equal to the value indicated in table 2 for the corresponding toe cap size.
Steel toe caps must be marked with the manufacturer's name or trademark, the size of the toe cap, and the indication of the left or right foot.
Safety insoles must be made of corrosion-resistant and puncture-resistant steel.
The distance between the edge of the safety insole and the edge of the inner sole (assembly insole) must not be greater than 6.5 mm.
The safety insole must have a minimum puncture resistance of 1,100 N.
Safety insoles must be marked with the manufacturer's name or trademark.
