What are the main syndromes of shock and their characteristics?

The term shock is used to describe the decrease in perfusion and oxygen supply to the body.
There are three main syndromes of shock: hypovolemic, cardiogenic, and distributive.
The cardiac output is decreased in cardiogenic shock, which can also be observed in obstructive shock.
The distributive shock is characterized by low systemic vascular resistance, which is often seen in cases of sepsis.
The absence of respiratory sounds on one side and tracheal deviation to the opposite side are signs of tension pneumothorax.
The diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency is confirmed by a suboptimal response to adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH).
