What are the characteristics of the following horse breeds/genes? Caballo Przewalski (Equus ferus przewalskii) Bayo Palomino Cremellos and Perlinos Appaloossa Tobianos Overo Bayo is similar to gateado, but does not have a dark dorsal stripe. Palomino has a golden yellow coat, with mane and tail several shades lighter. Cremellos and Perlinos are incorrectly called albinos, but there is no evidence of albinism in the equine species. They have a double dilution cream gene, which means they have two copies of the cream gene instead of just one like palomino and gateado. Double dilution cream gene on a chestnut horse results in a cremello, and on a black horse results in a perlino. They have pink skin and blue eyes. Appaloossa is a breed with a characteristic color. Tobianos is a dominant color, generally with white extremities, and the dark color is well defined and covers one or both flanks. Overo has white that generally does not cross the animal's back. They are commonly malacara, and the spots have poorly defined borders.
