What is the purpose of the MEC: Mini-Cognitive Exam of Lobo?
Identify possible mild cognitive impairment in people over 65 years old, and in those under 65 who have family history of dementia or spontaneous complaints of memory disorder. Measure cognitive ability by evaluating five dimensions: orientation, fixation, attention and calculation, memory, and language and construction. Provide a total score between 0 and 35, obtained through the direct sum of the correct answers provided by the test. The cutoff point established for detecting dementia in the Spanish population is 23 or less.
