SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE 
TIEMPO PRESENTE SIMPLE 
El tiempo presente simple lo utilizamos para expresar una acción que hacemos regularmente como 
rutina. 
Para las terceras personas (he, she, it) se le agrega al verbo (s, es, ies) sólo en la forma 
afirmativa. 
Rulers (reglas) 
1. Cuando el verbo termina en (sh, ch, x, o, z, s) se le agrega es a las terceras personas. 
 
Example: 
 
• Brush: cepillar 
• Teach: enseñar 
• Fix: reparar 
• Do: hacer 
• Bizz: sumbar 
• Kiss: besar 
2. Cuando el verbo termina en y y va precedido de una consonante, se cambia la y por la i y 
se le agrega es. 
 
Example: 
 
• Study: studies: estudiar 
• Cry: cries: llorar 
• Fly: flies: volar 
• Copy: copies: copiar

3. Cuando el verbo termina en y y va precedido de una vocal, se coloca s en las terceras 
personas.

4. Cuando el verbo termina en vocal e se le agrega s, en las terceras personas. 
 
Example: 
 
• Write: writes: escribir

• Practice: practices: practicar 
• Ride: rides: montar 
 
5. Cuando el verbo termina en una consonante distinta a las anteriores se le agrega s en las 
terceras personas. 
 
Example: 
 
• Work: Works: trabajar 
• Open: opens: abrir

1. Forma afirmativa: Para construir oraciones afirmativas en tiempo presente simple debo tener 
en cuenta el siguiente orden.

• COMPLEMENTO 
 
Example:

2. Forma negativa: Para construir oraciones negativas en tiempo presente simple debo utilizar 
el auxiliar DO, DOES. (NO TIENEN TRADUCCIÓN). 
 
El auxiliar DO se utiliza para los

tener en cuenta que el auxiliar DO, DOES va al comienzo de la oración.
