	The global pandemic has made many of us think twice about how and where we choose to live, study and travel. This is especially true of younger professionals. With newer travel trends like ‘workations’ and growing global opportunities for remote working, more and more young professionals are seeking a “digital nomad” lifestyle – often in urban areas – that neatly balances work and financial flexibility, with travel and leisure. 
	Russia's move to shut down the country's top human rights group Memorial shows that the Kremlin has taken a "sharp" dictatorial turn, one of its founding members told AFP. Prosecutors last week filed a demand to dissolve the group over legal violations, sending shock waves across Russia's rights circles. Memorial is the country's oldest rights group, founded in the twilight of the Soviet Union in 1989 by a group including Nobel peace laureate and famed dissident Andrei Sakharov.
	Holed up in her lab, Brazilian atmospheric chemist Luciana Gatti crunches her numbers again and again, thinking there is a mistake. But the same bleak conclusion keeps popping up on her screen: the Amazon, the world's biggest rainforest – the "lungs of the Earth," the "green ocean," the thing humanity is counting on to inhale our pollution and save us from the mess we've made of the planet – is now emitting more carbon than it absorbs.
	China and the United States on Wednesday announced a rare joint initiative to deliver enhanced climate action, Beijing's longtime climate envoy told the COP26 summit. "Both sides recognise that there is a gap between the current effort and the Paris Agreement goals so we will jointly strengthen climate action," Xie Zhenhua told reporters in a surprise announcement. China and US are the two largest emitters in the world and together account for nearly 40 percent of all carbon pollution.

	La pandemia mundial ha generado un cambio de pensamiento sobre cómo y dónde elegimos vivir, estudiar y viajar. Sobre todo en los profesionales más jóvenes. Las nuevas tendencias en viajes, las actividades laborales y las crecientes oportunidades globales para el trabajo a distancia, hacen que cada vez más profesionales jóvenes busquen un estilo de vida al que llamamos "nómada digital". Este nuevo fenómeno se da a menudo en áreas urbanas, donde se equilibre perfectamente el trabajo y la flexibilidad financiera, con los viajes y el ocio.
	 La decisión de Rusia de cerrar el principal grupo de derechos humanos del país, Memorial, muestra que el Kremlin ha dado un giro dictatorial "brusco", expreso uno de los miembros fundadores de la AFP. La semana pasada, los fiscales presentaron una demanda para disolver el grupo por violaciones legales, lo que provocó conmociones en los círculos de derechos de Rusia. Memorial es el grupo de derechos humanos más antiguo del país, fundado en el ocaso de la Unión Soviética en 1989 por un grupo que incluye al premio Nobel de la paz y famoso disidente Andrei Sakharov.
	Encerrada en su laboratorio, la química atmosférica brasileña Luciana Gatti analiza sus números una y otra vez, pensando que hay un error. Pero la misma conclusión sombría sigue apareciendo en su pantalla: el Amazonas, la selva tropical más grande del mundo, los llamados "pulmones de la Tierra", el "océano verde", aquello con lo que la humanidad cuenta para inhalar nuestra contaminación y salvarnos del desastre, ahora está emitiendo más carbono del que absorbe.
	China y Estados Unidos anunciaron el pasado miércoles una iniciativa conjunta para llevar a cabo una acción climática mejorada. El enviado climático de Beijing Xie Zhenhua en la cumbre COP26 expreso a los periodistas en un anuncio sorpresa, "Ambas partes reconocen que existe una brecha entre el esfuerzo actual y los objetivos del Acuerdo de París, por lo que fortaleceremos conjuntamente la acción climática". China y EE. UU son los dos mayores emisores del mundo y juntos representan casi el 40 por ciento de toda la contaminación por carbono.
