Assessment Tasks and Plan
You are required to complete all assessment parts.
The due dates for each part are listed below. Your trainer will give you the date applicable to your term of study in Week 1 of term.

Assessment Instructions and Guide 
Before starting your assessment, make sure you do the following:
· Read all questions and tasks carefully and complete in your own words.
· Use student textbooks and readings to support your answers,
· If you are unsure of any tasks, ask your trainer for further explanation, 
· Answer EVERY question, 
Before submitting your assessment, make sure you have completed the following:
· Fill out the cover sheet (including ticking the boxes for the student declaration),
· Answer EVERY question in EVERY task, 
· Label all electronic files clearly, with the assessment task number, full name and date, eg. AS1 Sally Smith 01/02/2022,
· Include any documents related to in-class simulation tasks, 
· Re-submit assessments in line with the ALG Assessment policy
Information for students 
Assessments are designed to help you demonstrate the knowledge which you have acquired during the learning phase of this unit. Ensure that you:
· review the advice to students regarding answering knowledge questions 
· comply with the due date for assessment which your assessor will provide
· adhere with your ALG’s submission guidelines
· answer all questions completely and correctly 
· submit work which is original and, where necessary, properly referenced
· submit a completed cover sheet with your work
· avoid sharing your answers with other students
Assessment Task 2: Practical Project Portfolio Assessment
Assessment Overview 
	This Practical Project Portfolio assessment requires you to plan, conduct and modify at least two presentations.
This assessment is divided into five tasks:
· Part A: Stakeholder Consultation
· Part B: Plan Presentations
· Part C: Develop Visual Aids and Materials
· Part D: Deliver Presentations
· Part E: Evaluate and Modify Presentation
Each task comes with a set of instructions. You are to follow and perform these instructions while being observed by the assessor and/or submit any required documentation.
Before starting this assessment, your assessor will discuss with you these tasks, including instructions and guidance for satisfactorily completing them.
You are required to:
· Complete the tasks within the time allowed, as scheduled in-class roll.
· Plan, develop, and deliver at least two different presentations.
· Consult with others to determine requirements and develop effective presentations.
· Select, develop, and apply structures, strategies, methods, techniques, and tools best suited to presentation purpose, objectives, and audience needs.
· Demonstrate written, oral, and non-verbal communication skills.
· Seek, review, evaluate and respond to stakeholder feedback. 
· Monitor and respond to audience reactions, needs and expectations. 
· Identify improvement opportunities and implement changes to an existing presentation 
	
Resources Required for Assessment
· Computer with internet and email access and a working web browser
· Installed software: PowerPoint, Prezi or other presentation software, Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader 
· A workplace, or a simulated environment that will allow you access to:
· Template in the learner’s workplace/organisation for:
· Documenting presentation plans
· Participant feedback forms
· People, including:
· At least one relevant stakeholder from the learner’s organisation who the learner will consult with to gather information required to develop at least two presentation plans
Relevant stakeholders refer to individuals or groups who have information or guidance on presentations that must be conducted in the workplace
· At least two members of the learner’s target audience for each presentation as indicated in the presentation plans completed in Practical Project Portfolio Part B 
· At least one relevant stakeholder from the learner’s organisation who the learner will consult with to evaluate and modify at least two presentations
· Opportunity to:
· Consult with at least one relevant stakeholder in the workplace/organisation
· Deliver at least two presentations to their target audience based on the presentation plans completed in Practical Project Portfolio Part B 
· Consult with at least one relevant stakeholder to evaluate and modify at least two presentations

PART A: STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION 
 
	ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS 
	Your assessor will observe you as you consult with at least one relevant stakeholder to gather information required to develop at least two presentation plans in Practical Project Portfolio Part B.
Relevant stakeholders refer to individuals or groups who have information or guidance on presentations that must be conducted in the workplace.
Presentation topics must be relevant to relevant to Fitness, please see below some suggestions: 
· A new exercise format (think about Tabata, HIIT) 
· Sustainability - using bikes, treadmills, cross trainers to power a help power a facility 
· Education days in the gym for members 
· New exercise equipment 
· Older Adults on pension, should gym be free and paid for by the government? 
· Should morbidly obese people have free gym access paid for by the government? 
· Does the fitness industry need to do better? 
· New organisational practices and standards
· Current market standing of the organisation
· Personal development
You will be assessed on your practical skills to:
1. Consult with at least one relevant stakeholder to gather information, document requirements, and plan at least two presentations.
2. Discussion for each presentation must include:
· At least one presentation topic
· At least one presentation purpose
· At least one desired outcome/s
· Target audience
· Key ideas to be presented
· Key concepts to be presented
· At least one presentation method for each presentation
· At least one presentation format for each presentation
· The general structure and sequence you plan to use for each
· At least one presentation strategy for supporting effective presentations

· At least one technique to evaluate presentation effectiveness
3. Use listening and questioning techniques to gather information, clarify and confirm requirements

	ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS 
	This task will require you to develop a presentation plan for at least two presentations discussed in Part A.
To complete this task, you must: 
1. Review all information gathered during consultation with at least one relevant stakeholder in Part A
2. Develop a presentation plan for each presentation to be conducted in Practical Project Portfolio Part D 
Each presentation plan must include the following:
· Title of the presentation
· At least one presentation purpose
· Presentation approach
· Outline of the presentation structure
· At least one intended outcome
· Target audience of the presentation
· At least one delivery method
· At least one presentation format
· At least one strategy for supporting effective presentations
· Aids and materials to support presentation effectiveness 
· Resources required for the presentation
Review Practical Project Portfolio Part B – Assessor Checklists before starting this task. This form outlines the following: 
· Resources you are required to access to complete the task.

1. Review each presentation plan developed in Practical Project Portfolio Part B to identify the following, which must be developed in this task:
· Presentation aids
· Presentation materials
2. Develop at least one of each of the following for each presentation to be conducted:
· Visual aid to support audience understanding of the presentation
· Presentation material to support audience understanding of the presentation
Review Practical Project Portfolio Part C – Assessor Checklists before starting this task. This form outlines all the practical skills you need to demonstrate to satisfactorily complete this task. Your assessor will also discuss with you the practical skills outlined in this form prior to the assessment.
After completing this task, submit the following to Canvas:
1. At least two visual aids
For satisfactory performance, information included must adhere to the visual aids required by each presentation as indicated in presentation plans from Part B.

1. Deliver at least two presentations based on the presentation plans developed in Practical Project Portfolio Part B 
2. Use visual aids and presentation materials developed in Practical Project Portfolio Part C 
3. Tailor your messages and adapt your style and delivery to meet stakeholder needs and expectations
4. Modify your communication style based on the needs and expectations of your target audience
5. Use listening and questioning techniques to present and clarify information
6. Distribute participant feedback forms to the target audience to seek their feedback on your presentation
