UNIVERSIDAD CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS VETERINARIAS ESCUELA DE MEDICINA VETERINARIA ASIGNATURA INGLES PARCIAL #2 Profe: Janeth Bracho Villegas ESTUDIANTE: Norayma José Martínez Lugo V-27.453.674 Maracay, Febrero 2023 TEXTO 1 Today, we can distinguish between two types of extinction, depending on the way the species disappears: Phyletic extinction or pseudoextinction: One species disappears leaving behind another more evolved one. The original species (ancestor) is considered to be extinct but its lineage continues. There is no increase or decrease in diversity. Terminal extinction: A species becomes extinct without leaving descendants. Diversity therefore decreases. This type is in turn subdivided into two: - Background (or normal) terminal extinction. Continuing, gradual disappearance over time. - Mass terminal extinction. Worldwide with a common trigger event. It must be quick and affect a large number of unrelated organic Dinosaurs, for example. ACTIVIDADES 1. ¿CUÁL ES EL TÓPICO DEL TEXTO? - Explicar los tipos de extinción según la forma en que desaparece la especie 2. ¿CUÁL ES EL PROPÓSITO DEL TEXTO? - Describir 3. ¿QUÉ TIPO DE TEXTO ES? - Descriptivo 4. It's thought the death toll has been relatively low this time because the earthquake struck in an area that was largely empty after it was badly hit by the 6 February quake. Reports from the city of Antakya spoke of fear and panic in the streets as ambulances and rescue crews tried to reach the worst affected areas where the walls of badly damaged buildings had collapsed.
