What are the clinical signs of babesiosis in dogs during the acute phase?

During the acute phase of babesiosis in dogs, they show apathy, depression, anorexia, dyspnea, fever, lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly, petechiae and ecchymoses on the skin and mucous membranes, epistaxis, and vomiting. Thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, and non-regenerative normocytic and normochromic anemia are also typical.
