GLOMERULONEFRITIS QUE CURSAN CON ALTERACIONES URINARIAS PERMANENTES Es importante asociar el tratamiento adecua- do para prevenir complicaciones relacionadas con la medicación administrada como las infec- ciones, la osteoporosis y el riesgo cardiovascular derivado tanto de la insuficiencia renal como de los tratamientos pautados [20-25]. En pacientes con cuadros graves en los que exista una sospecha elevada de GNRP y la rea- lización de la biopsia pueda retrasar el inicio del tratamiento se podrá iniciar el mismo de manera empírica, aunque la realización de la biopsia re- nal se debe demorar lo menos posible ya que su fin, como hemos dicho antes, no es únicamente diagnóstico, sino también pronóstico y podría determinar la agresividad y la duración del trata- miento [23-25].
