Es una enfermedad lentamen- te progresiva, y aunque la causa no está del todo demostrada, parece estar asociada a la exposición a ácido aristolóquico, el cual actúa como nefro- toxina. Influyen también factores genéticos. Los datos histológicos serán los típicos de la NIC, unido a hipostenuria y glucosuria. No tiene tra- tamiento específico, más allá del manejo de la ERC, y en estos casos siempre habrá que estar alerta para identificar los posibles tumores urote- liales que aparezcan [27]. 4.7. Otras causas de NIC La uropatía obstructiva, las enfermedades lin- foproliferativas y mieloma múltiple, la radiación o las enfermedades glomerulares pueden derivar en diversos procesos de inflamación que tendrán como resultado final el desarrollo de una NIC. La hiperuricemia puede inducir reacciones inflama- torias a nivel del intersticio renal, así como depó- sito de cristales de ácido úrico [28].
