Anamnesis
Physical examination
Complementary tests
The destination, type of trip, and exposure to risk factors should be investigated during the anamnesis.
The duration and pattern of the fever should not be interpreted rigidly and should take into account the use of antipyretics and/or antibiotics.
Infectious and non-infectious causes of fever should be considered, and potentially life-threatening diseases should be ruled out.
