What are the signs and symptoms of dirofilariasis in cats?

The most frequent clinical signs are respiratory, gastrointestinal, and occasionally neurological, and can be acute or chronic.
Chronic vomiting is the only clinical sign in some cats.
Weight changes, anorexia, weight loss, and lethargy are common.
Neurological signs due to aberrant parasite migration can occur, such as seizures, apparent blindness, ataxia, circling gait, mydriasis, and hypersalivation.
The diagnosis of feline filariasis is more difficult in cats than in dogs and can be easily overlooked.
