What are the objectives of diagnostic tests in syncope?

To determine if the episode was truly a syncope or presyncope or if it was a sudden cardiac death, seizure, vertigo, intoxication or drop attack.
To stratify the patient's risk according to the information from the interview, the presence or absence of underlying heart disease and the ECG to establish the need for hospitalization.
