What are the different neuromuscular blockers used in anesthesia and their doses?
Neuromuscular blockers are used to improve skeletal muscle relaxation, facilitate ventilation control during intrathoracic surgery, and achieve intubation in difficult airways. Rocuronium has a minimal cardiovascular incidence and can be administered in a single dose of 0.5 mg/kg or by continuous intravenous infusion at a rate of 0.2 mg/kg/h. Atracurium has a latency of 3 to 5 minutes for its onset of action, and its effect lasts for approximately 30 minutes. The infusion rate for continuous intravenous administration is 3-5 mcg/kg/min. Vecuronium has a minimal or no hemodynamic repercussion and can be administered in a single dose of 0.08-0.1 mg/kg intravenously. The spontaneous ventilation recovers at approximately 30 minutes.
